What a positive test does
Nothing on this ledger is taken away. A positive test triggers a clinical review, a treatment adjustment, and more support — not a subtraction and not a cell. Relapse is a symptom of the disorder being treated. Programs that punish the symptom lose people from care, and people lost from care are the ones who die. Earned days already banked are permanent.
On exit
Sealed credential — portable, verifiable, and carried by the person, not the facility.
An employer can verify this record is authentic and unaltered without ever receiving the information below. That is a structural property of the payload, not a policy someone has to remember to follow.
Structurally absent from the employer view
- Offence, charge, and disposition
- Sentence length and facility name
- Substance, diagnosis, and medication
- Test results of any kind
- Any clinical or risk score
Substance use records are governed by 42 CFR Part 2, which is stricter than HIPAA. Building the record this way is not only decent — it is the only version that is lawful to hand an employer.
